Today we're releasing Condicio, an open JSON Schema standard for representing structured contract data. Condicio covers nine schema sections: parties, clauses, obligations, risks, dates, financials, signatures, amendments, and metadata.
Why Condicio?
Legal data is trapped in PDFs, Word documents, and proprietary CLM formats. Every vendor has its own data model. Switching CLM platforms means re-extracting everything.
Condicio is vendor-neutral — a common language for contract data that any tool can read and write.
Adoptions
- Docfide uses Condicio as its native data format
- Duct exports document extractions as Condicio-compliant JSON
- MCP-Law includes Condicio schemas in its jurisdiction packs
The specification, reference implementations in JavaScript and Python, and example documents are available on GitHub.
